Are you happy?

Let’s lighten the mood a little from that book of a blog post last week. I want to talk about happiness.
Am I happy after what seems like a crappy childhood? Yes. Am I happy every single day, every single minute, every single second? No, I’m not. But who really is 24/7?
Here’s a few things that make me happy:
My kids. Yes, they drive me insane in the membrane on the regular but the fact that they are mine and I get to love their little selves for the rest of my life gives me so much happiness.
My husband, Blake. So cliche. Cue ALL THE EYEROLLS. But we‘ve been through a lot in our almost 7 years together. Depression, childish tendencies, family drama, miscarriage. You name it, we’ve dealt with it and managed to make it through.
Walking at the park almost daily. I just recently started doing it about 2 months ago and have only missed a few days here and there because I was sick or it was raining. It just gives me something to look forward to in the mornings and the babies get to play after I finish. So it’s a win win for all of us.
Painting. I don’t do it much at all anymore but when I do get the off chance to do it, I love it. It soothes me so much. I would love to have another go at it when I’m a bit older.
I don’t want to list material things because, of course, I’m thankful for them because we worked hard to get where we are. Well, Blake did while I did my thing making door hangers for a few years. We stayed in some pretty hell hole homes before we got to where we are now. We also had some pretty junky cars before Blake bought my Durango to fit all of these kids. Growing up I literally thought what I had determined my worth and happiness and now in my 30’s I see that isn’t the case.
